Apparently, the kōchō had allowed Miko and I to do the opening ceremony together. If I remember correctly, he seemed relieved that there are going to be two people doing it.

"Haha...ugh. Senpai? This might be embarrassing to ask, but, where is the toilet?"

"Embarrassing? Which one? The question or the nose bleed?"

"Uruse!"

"Hai, hai! Wareware wa o rikai. The toilet is straight up ahead; just turn left once you reach class 2B."

Ah...she...she...Eva...she just...talked...to...me...

And just like that, our conversation ends with me running to the toilet...

Fuh, found the toilet at last-

"SUGOI! This toilet is nicer and bigger than any I have ever seen in my life!"

It's so~ big; I can't even count the number of sinks they have. It's like a bunch of sinks on every side of the bathroom. In the center, cubicles in a circular order-

Opening Ceremony I

Daijobu ~ Can mean "Are you okay?" or "No problem."

I love going to school. You get to make friends and chit-chat with them about things that don't matter much; you get to learn new things and see the girl...whom you have had a crush on since middle school, for a whole freakin' day. What could be better than that?

"To be specific, what could be better than seeing her..."

.Unfortunately, I had to suffer for a whole year without seeing her, since she is my senpai, I mean, was my senpai. Now, she is in her second year of high school while I am a freshman.

"Still does not change the fact that she still is a senpai and will go to university first, you fool..."

..I was lucky enough to enter the same high school as her; I had never worked my ass off that much in my entire life.

"That must be what people call Ai no Ishi!"

...My friends and relatives told me that I have a strong imagination. I personally think my imagination is too strong to the fact that I get the wrong kinds of imagination. So wrong that one time, I nearly died of blood loss just by picturing her in a kimono.

"Haven't I seen her in a kimono before..."

....Well, father and mother were really happy that I was accepted into Ryoujin High School, considering it is one of the top three high schools in Shikonin.

"Aaa...Zero-chan...in front of you...”

....Sometimes, I hate it when people call me ‘-chan’, but there were a few exceptions. One, Tomoki Eva. Two, Yuzune Miko. Three, my younger sister~to be.

“Though I doubt Eva will ever call me that...and me having a younger-“

“Aaa...daijobu, Zero-chan?”

“EH? Aaa...I did but Zero-chan kept talking weirdly... again.”

Now that Miko mentioned it, I sort of tend to talk to myself ever since I went on a holiday in Okazaki.

“Ah, hontō? Hm, gommen. I guess if there is anyone to blame, it would be my great-grandpa.”

Ooooo yeah...great-grandpa, because of you I picked up your bad habit of mumbling non-sense to myself and nearly everyone from last year thinks that I was abducted by aliens during the holidays.

“Aaa...it’s okay. I am used to your scolding and shouting, Zero-chan. It can’t be helped can it? Zero-chan, we might need to hurry. Today's the opening ceremony after all.”

Opening ceremony for us freshmen, just the thought of it wants to make me cower behind anything, like a wall...or a lamppost...

“Opening ceremony, huh? Maybe it IS best if we are late. Miko, wanna get ice-cream?”

For the past school years of my life I had NEVER had a ‘late’ or ‘absent’ written in my report card but I guess today is excusable. I mean, there is no harm tainting my report card with just one ‘late’ right?

“You can’t do that Zero-chan. You're supposed to give a speech for the opening ceremony this year.”

I have NO idea why I was chosen to do the speech. I mean, I BARELY passed the test. Someone else should, let’s say Miko, have been elected to do it. She can, without any doubt, enter any high school and university with her kind of performance.

“Let’s see, Miko, do me a BIG favour and I will be indebted to you till the end of the year! I promise!”

This is not the first time I had said that, but it turned up well last time, though it was hell for me. I had to cook her lunch every day, walk her home every day(though that was kind of normal already) and bring her out once every month(something like dates I guess) but I could not break my promise; she did her end of the bargain, I should too at least.

*SIGH* “Seriously Zero-chan, when will you ever start to man up. Fine, I get it, I will do the speech in your place. I knew this would happen, so I prepared a speech myself.”

She truly is a genius. No, an alien? Or maybe psychic. Either one, she is a great friend to have.

“Thank you soo much, Miko! You're my saviour! So then-“

“As for those favours, firstly, I'd like you to read the speech with me on stage. Let’s do it together! I hope the teachers would allow us.”

Kimi akuma ka?

“Ah, shitaka nai deshou? Ikimashou.”

“Aaa...chotto yo, Zero~chan! Mou~~”

“Ne-ne, kikoeru? Haruno-san and Yuzune-chan are going to do the opening ceremony speech together!”

“Yeah, did you guys remember? Haruno sometimes brought Yuzune to the amusement park! Eva-chan, what do you think of them?”
